Yield: 4 Cups
Approximate Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
2 lbs. Bag of Powdered Sugar
1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
2 sticks of Unsalted Butter
2 sticks of Salted Butter
1/3 Cup of Hot Water
Step 1: Cream together our vanilla and butter in mixing bowl.
*Helpful Tip: Remove your butter from the refrigerator about an hour before making this recipe.
Step 2: Gradually add powdered sugar and water to the same mixing bowl. It may get a bit messy, so using a bowl shield will keep your work area clean.
Step 3: When the mixture has become very thick, start to gradually add hot water.
*Helpful Tip: Stop mixing occasionally to scrape down the sides of my bowl.
Step 4: Continue to mix for another few minutes until the buttercream becomes silky smooth.
This easy buttercream frosting is super versatile. You can use it to ice a cake, use it to ice cupcakes, or you can use it to fill French Macarons. Whatever you choose to make, I sincerely hope you'll try this recipe and let me know what you think!
