DIGITAL SCALE

Baking is a science and accurate measuring is often required! Having exact measurements is very important, so a digital scale will help achieve better results when baking. This simple bamboo and glass scale lets me switch between grams and ounces with the push of a button. I can place my container on the scale and remove the weight of the container by pressing the “tare” button. As I pour sugar into the container, the scale accurately measures the amount and displays it on the screen. This scale has a 11 pound or 5 kilogram weight capacity.

STAINLESS STEEL MIXING BOWLS

A baker can never have too many bowls! Having multiple bowls in a variety of sizes helps bakers with organizing and combining ingredients. Stainless steel bowls by Cuisinart are pretty sturdy. Other bowls are thinner, but still do the job. Stainless steel bowls don't rust, are easy to clean and are dishwasher safe.

COOLING RACKS

Cooling racks provide a place for hot pans to cool after they've been removed from the oven. I have a non-stick cooling rack by Mainstays. The finish prevents food from sticking to it so baked goods like cookies can be placed directly on top for easy cleanup later. Here’s another by Wilton. Referred to as a “cooling grid”, this one is scratch-resistant and metal tool safe. Cooling racks have four or more feet that elevate the rack from the surface this allows air to circulate around the pan or baked good to cool them more efficiently.

PHOTOGRAPHIC BACKGROUNDS

Delicious bakes call for amazing photos! Replica Surfaces are super helpful for providing the perfect backdrop for photos to post to social media. I was able to create these three different setups by mixing and matching the surfaces and placing them near a window for natural light. I’ve used these backgrounds for photos and numerous videos on my YouTube channel. When you purchase two or more surfaces, you'll receive these stands easily attach the stands to opposite corners of one surface then push the coordinating surface into the stands. here's what it looks like when you put them together. You can check out all of the Replica Surfaces designs by clicking here.

THE BETTER BAKING BOOK

Print resources tend to become outdated over time, and this makes online resources more appealing. However, having a great baking book can provide timeless guidance and inspiration for your baking journey. One such book is Baker Betty's Better Baking Book by Kristen Hoffman. I bought this book for myself about a few years ago and it is absolutely amazing.  It contains a lot of great information about baking that beginners will find especially useful, It touches upon all sorts of baked goods (i.e. breads, cookies, cakes, pies). The subtitle reads “classic baking techniques and recipes for building baking confidence”, and I can tell you it's delivers them. I’ve found the Master Recipes incredibly helpful in developing my own recipes. I highly recommend this book!
