Tool(s) #2: Decorating Tips
Tips or nozzles come in a lot of different shapes and sizes and so if you want to learn more about the ones that you would need to get started using right away, check out this video.

Tool #3: Metal Spatula
Generally, there are two different kinds: offset spatulas and straight spatulas. The straight spatulas come in handy when you're icing the sides of your cake. What makes an offset spatula unique is the angle which keeps your hand up and away from your cake and that comes in handy when you are icing the top of your cake. They are also available in different sizes; 9-inch and 13-inch being the most common.
Benefits:
Smooths frosting for a professional look
Angled spatula prevents your hand from touching the cake
Easy to find in-store; not a specialty item.

I use my Ateco turntable quite often. It has a smooth stainless-steel top. What I like to do is take a little bit of shelf liner to place it on top of my turntable before I place my cake board with my cake on it, on top of my turntable. Plastic turntables are also available.
Benefits:
Allows you to frost a cake easier and in less time
Can double at a cake stand – Saves you Money!
Tool #5: Cake Leveler
This tool is one of my favorites! Check out the video below to watch how to use this tool to make your cakes nice and level on the top. You can also use a cake leveler to cut your cake into thinner layers.
Benefits:
Faster results and more accurate leveling/torting when compared to a serrated bread knife.
Safe to use than a serrated bread knife
Beginner-friendly
Bonus Tool: Tip Brush
When using decorating tips to pipe buttercream, our tips get clogged. To clean the nooks and crannies of these small tips, a tip brush really comes in handy. You want to have one on hand to keep your decorating tips sparkly, clean.
Benefits:
Cleans decorating tips more thoroughly
Easy to store
